As a Senior Video Associate, I pitch, scriptwrite, film, and edit video content to support organizational storytelling under the Everytown brand, and amplify voices of the movement to end gun violence. I oversee the video content of Angela Ferrell-Zabala, the executive director of Everytown's grassroots arm — Moms Demand Action.
Alongside her social team, I visually capture her work as a vocal leader in the gun violence prevention space.
For one of Everytown's annual campaigns, Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, I pitched the idea of a video with animated text on screen that featured the voices of survivors.
Everytown endorsed Former Vice President Kamala Harris during her 2024 presidential campaign, and created on-trend social videos — like brat fancams — to reach and engage young voters.
A routine content strategy is elevating the voices of survivors and highlighting the volunteers that make the work possible.
Another content strategy is meeting the moment with newsworthy social clips, like this clip of Capitol police officer Michael Fanone calling out Trump and January 6th rioters. The response on TikTok, where Everytown is a new presence, was huge: the follower count grew from 2K to nearly 37K in just a few days, largely on the strength of this video.
Direct to camera videos and videos critical of the Trump administration's lax gun safety laws keep the Everytown audience aware and engaged in the movement.
