Hello! I'm Alexis!
You might also know me as @pizzagirllex. I'm an illustrator, an animator, and I do a little video, too!
My journey began at the University of Mississippi, where I majored in journalism with a minor in African-American studies. I later attended American University, where I graduated with an MFA in Film and Media Arts. I love visual media and I love telling our stories with it.
I like to think of myself as "creating art that moves," because I am also an alum of the Center for Third World Organizing’s Movement Activist Apprenticeship Program. It was a unique experience where I received training in grassroots organizing and movements for social change, and it gave me a deeper understanding of the role of art in movement.
In my spare time, when I'm not creating, I enjoy cozy gaming, karaoke, walks, HIIT workouts, endless Pinterest scrolling, and YouTube binges.
